Previous winners: Megan Guarnier – 2016.

Elisa Longo Borghini

From her breakthrough year in 2015 when she won the Tour of Flanders and Giro dell’Emilia (a race she won again in 2016) to a bronze medal in Rio2016 in the women’s road race, Elisa Longo Borghini has been going from strength to strength. This season, she took the Italian national championship double and wears the tricolore jersey in time trial and road race. She also won Strade Bianche Donne, took second in Giro d’Italia Femminile and third in La Course.

Chantal Blaak

It’s not a bad season when you end up in the rainbow jersey and that’s exactly what Dutch rider Chantal Blaak did, taking an emotional solo victory in Bergen. Blaak also took two stages in the Healthy Ageing Tour; second place in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, and third in Tour of Flanders.

Coryn Rivera

Coryn Rivera has definitely arrived – taking a magnificent win in the Tour of Flanders, she also graced the top step at Trofeo Alfredo Binda, Prudential RideLondon Classique, and a stage in the Tour of California. She finished second in the Tour de Yorkshire and third in Gent-Wevelgem. With her Sunweb team, she celebrated on the top step of the podium for the World Championships TTT.

Anna van der Breggen

Anna van der Breggen has been on fire this season. She won two stage races – the Giro-Rosa and the Tour of California, as well as the Ardennes triple of Amstel Gold, La Fleche Wallonne Feminine and Liege-Bastogne-Liege Femme. Add to that, second overall in the Healthy Ageing Tour and Holland Ladies Tour, plus  silver in the Worlds individual time trial in Bergen. She finishes the season as first overall in the UCI Women’s World Tour.

Annemiek van Vleuten

This Dutch rider is not sitting on her laurels – van Vleuten is the current World Time Trial Champion to add to her Dutch time trial champion‘s jersey. She was on the top step for the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria, and La Course. She also took the overall in the Holland Ladies Tour, winning the prologue and stage 3 in the process. She was on the second step for Emakumeen Euskal Bira, winning stage 4, as well as second in individual pursuit in the UCI Track World Cup. And not to be sniffed at, third overall in the Giro Rosa, but taking home both the points and mountain classification, as well as winning stage 2 and 5.
